6 SheaMositure Hair Products I'm Loving (and 2 Alikay Naturals)

I'm not going to do any youtube videos I don't want to face that kind of criticism but I will share what products I like for my natural hair.  I don't see very many videos that (to me) accurately discuss low porosity hair or "that hair" that isn't really discussed when we're talking about natural hair.

Related imageIt's frustrating when you're trying to find your voice and be heard and someone else takes over that sound of yours.  I know white women want to be heard when they're talking about "going natural" but this was a space carved out by black women to discuss their hair.

I've seen women go to work like this, with their hair like this and no one says anything.  They say things like, "I just got out of the show and had no time to brush my hair" or whatever the case may be.  If this is your natural hair, great, good for you.

But this is what my hair looks like when I step out of the shower and don't have time to brush OR style it.  Unless where you work is pretty progressive and your hiring managers and hr department know what they're looking at when they look at natural hair, this will be deemed "unprofessional" so black women have to find ways to make ourselves more presentable in corporate America.  To make ourselves blend in and look like we belong there.  So when I google natural hair and stringy sue appears it's very frustrating because when we're trying to speak about our issues there is someone else putting their hands over our mouths and keeping us from speaking about things that we have to navigate in everyday life.

And I get that white women also have problems with their hair, the same as we encounter.  Not enough moisture, length retention, ect.  But what works on one person's hair isn't going to work on mine and it makes the search for what I'm seeking more difficult.  That's the whole problem with "I don't see color" if you don't see color how will you appreciate everyone's beauty?

Well, SheaMoisture sees color.  And women who have curly hair all benefit.  ALL women.

Here's what I'm using from SheaMoisture.

I LOVE SheaMoisture and I was lucky to run into this item from Alikay Naturals, I had a bad experience with Camille Rose Naturals Curlaide Moisture Butter and for whatever reason, I thought it was the same company (it's not) Camille Rose people have raved about but their Curlaide gave me so many flakes. No matter how or when I used it. But this looks like a perfect mixture for me and in using the LOC Method OR LCO Method.

I haven't noticed any difference using the Cream before the Oil or vice versa but I really do think that using hot water and the leave-in detangler is making a huge difference as ShiLinda1 has said to do.  I put a little Detangler in a spray bottle, using hot water and then I use the cream the transitioning milk which I thought was something that wouldn't work for me because I'm not transitioning but according to ShiLinda1 it works best for Low-Porosity hair because it isn't heavy.  The growth oil isn't heavy at all and penetrates wonderfully in my hair it doesn't weigh my hair down it makes my hair soft and moisturized.

The products I use on wash day are different and may be subject to change but we'll see.  I think I like the low-porosity conditioner more than the other conditioner so I'll buy that again.  I saw a youtubber that didn't like it at all so I thought her video was a little funny, it's not for everyone but it's feeling great on my hair.  Now to just find some styles.
.I know I put Deep Treatment Masque on the bottom but that stuff is money!  It makes my hair feel SO SOFT and I can start to see my curl texture.  It's amazing!  I hope SheaMoisture keeps making this product and one day I can stop being such a product junkie.  I ran across this image on Pinterest earlier today and whether or not this is her real hair or not this is my goal.  I just need to get out of the stage 2 natural hair.
